North East company plans to double turnover and create 18 new positions thanks to Scaleup North East

A Scaleup North East client has announced a new management structure as part of its growth plans, along with the creation of 18 new jobs and doubling turnover in the next 12 months.

Revolution – revenue growth specialists, based in Gateshead has ambitious plans for the year ahead and has announced a new leadership team which sees Digital Director Adam Blenkinsop moving into the role of CEO, with founder Gill Burgess becoming Strategic Board Advisor to support the senior team.

Blenkinsop joined the business in 2008 and will now be responsible for the overall running of the business and overseeing its target of doubling revenue in 2022.

Established in 2003, Revolution’s original mission was to deliver impactful marketing strategies to business across the North East. The Business now delivers revenue growth with its UK-wide client portfolio. Their service offer encompasses Growth Strategy, Demand Generation, Customer Conversion, Customer Retention and Digital Transformation, and they are a HubSpot Platinum Partner. Revolution opened its second office in Manchester in 2019 and acquired The Roundhouse Digital in 2021.

After being assigned Scaleup Northeast partner Angelina Bell, together they worked through the cultural environment, vision, values, behaviour and communications as priorities. Adam Blenkinsop, CEO reflects:
“The last 18 months have not been without their challenges. At the time we started working with Angelina we had recently undergone the acquisition of The Roundhouse Digital. It was therefore important for us to focus on the company’s culture and values to bring the two businesses together and create a solid foundation for our further growth.

“We had been discussing the development of our new leadership team and Angelina made us aware of a range of options to consider. Gill and I have been running the business for several years, so we understand that embedding and supporting the new leadership team is vital to managing the next phase of our growth.

“With the restructure of the business, our recent rebrand and the further growth of our two offices, we are expecting an exciting period ahead. Our Growth Sprint product is proving hugely impactful, and with so many companies accelerating their digital transformation, there are many exciting opportunities for us. The Growth Sprints bring together teams across a company to make decisions and suggestions for rapid and impactful business improvements. At first, it’s quite a new experience for many of our clients and the results are excellent, so they’re a powerful way to catalyse and deliver change.

“Within the next 12 months we are doubling the size of the business, in both turnover and headcount. We will be replicating the skill set we have in the Northeast into the Northwest.”

RTC North is delivering Scaleup North East in conjunction with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). The programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). It is aimed at supporting North East-based businesses that can demonstrate both the hunger and the potential to achieve high levels of growth.
